Magnaficat (2015 Grammy shortlisted for best surround sound album) is the song of the Virgin Mary praising God. It comes from the most wonderful passage in the Bible: Angel Gabriel visits and brings the news that she will be the mother of God’s son. The composer Kim Andr é Arnesen expressed all kinds of emotions that Maria must go through: surprise, piety, gratitude, joy, humility, hope and compassion. God chooses a woman who lives in poverty and is unknown as his son’s mother in a bottom-up world view. Arnesen believes that Magnificat brings support and hope to those who struggle in suffering and need strength.
