德国钢琴家马丁•施滕菲尔德（Martin Stadtfeld）在9岁时首次登台演唱。13岁时，他开始在法兰克福的音乐学院(Musikhochschule)师从列夫•纳托切尼(Lev Natochenny)。他在比赛中取得的成功始于德国联邦政府组织的“Jugend musiziert”比赛。1997年，他在巴黎的Nikolai Rubinstein钢琴比赛中获胜，2001年，他在博尔扎诺的Busoni钢琴比赛中一举成名。
2002年，马丁•施滕菲尔德是第一位赢得莱比锡国际巴赫大赛的德国联邦钢琴家。这是一项悠久而神圣的传统的比赛，但是14年来没有颁发过一等奖。赢得这一奖项后，马丁受邀参加德国安斯巴赫音乐节、斯图加特巴赫音乐节和柯特纳巴赫盛典等顶级巴赫音乐节，以及国内外其他重要音乐节。他的演奏足迹遍及欧洲、美国和日本。他被Die Zeit描述为“极具天赋”。他的室内乐合作伙伴之一是大提琴家简•沃格勒(Jan Vogler)。
