在蒙克萨克斯风大赛中获得亚军之后，埃里克·亚历山大（Eric Alexander）的名字马上出现在数不清的爵士专辑中。 这也难怪，因为十二岁从竖笛转为萨克斯风吹奏后，艾瑞克对爵士乐的涉猎就相当广泛：从查理·帕克、克里斯·布朗、桑尼·罗林斯、乔·汉德森等人都是他心目中的偶像，而影响他最深的吹奏仍然来自两大巨星：柯曼·霍金斯（Coleman Hawkins）的和谐音色与约翰·柯川（John Coltrane）的惊人旋律感。 在大学时他也接受如乔洛瓦诺等大师的指导，可说是名师出高徒。
专辑虽然只有八首歌曲，但是总时长却接近一小时，其中不乏七至八分钟的超长演奏。 大家耳熟能详的旋律，透过这样长时间的演奏，却完全不显得烦腻，这就是这个四重奏演奏技巧过人的明证。 成功的秘诀？ 埃里克在这些抒情爵士专辑中只与自己最有默契的乐手合作，在这样熟悉的环境下作业，即使是这样简单的情歌，在他们的演奏下也可以展现出不同的风味。 像是在「You’ll Be Mine Tonight」的尾声居然出现圣诞歌曲的熟悉旋律，就是让听者沉醉在抒情旋律时，会突然精神为之一振的趣味。
纽约的The Studio也是Venus Records经常合作的录音室，在这里录音师Katherine Miller与Venus Records固定的制作班底原哲夫、Todd Barkan共同合作，在2007年十一月纪录下此一完美的演奏。 以Venus独家「Hyper Magnum Sound」系统混音的结果，萨克斯风音色丰满圆润、钢琴颗粒分明，而鼓与贝斯该有的冲击力、低频弹性与细节都恰如其分，是标准的Venus Records精良制作。
